M Go Tailgate

Welcome back tailgaters! (Yes, cue the Cedar Point “welcome back riders” voice again…)

The offseason is finally behind us and Michigan Football is back! First game, first tailgate, and time to shake off the rust — burgers in one hand, drink in the other, maize & blue everywhere. Once again we have a night game to kick off the season over the Labor Day Weekend.

New year means new gear! We were able to make some major upgrades to our tail gate this season due to the ongoing generosity of our tailgate crew.  As with everything these days and due to significant price increases, our upgrades were more costly than expected.  If you are interested in contributing to help with the remaining costs, please see Ken or Rich.

Menu: We’re keeping it classic for the opener: burgers, dogs, and brats. Everything else is up to you — sides, desserts, and whatever surprise dishes you want to show off. Please add what you’re bringing to the signup so we don’t end up with 47 bags of chips (again).

📍 Location: We’ll do our best to snag the usual spot, but as you know it’s sometimes a bit of musical chairs.  If you can come early to help save spots (around 11:30AM) let us know.
⏰ Tailgate starts: Around 2:30pm (could be a bit earlier or a bit later) since the lot opens at noon and help to hold our regular parking spots is always appreciated.  Generally having people on the ground holds our spots.
💵 Contribution: $15/adult covers the mains, soda, and water. Kids discounted as usual. If cost is ever an issue, just let a host know — we’d always rather have you there.

Special note: the tailgate will shut down shortly after the start of the game and leave at halftime. We will be unable to hold on to items for those who go into the game.

Other tailgate notes:

• Grill will be available for anyone with dietary needs or DIY cooking.
• KEG BEER & SELTZER:  Will be available again this year for a $10 contribution.  Be sure to sign up.  Brands and flavors are TBD based on availability. 
• BYOB still applies — community blue cooler rules: add some, take some.
• Booze stash is empty to start the season, so bring what you want.
• Tailgate shuts down shortly after kickoff — no postgame this week.

If you or your group are close by we can really use help from 11:30-noon to run into the lot and secure our normal spots. Please let Ken or Rich know if you can help. We have a couple of nearby parking spots for this purpose.
